(My theme for April's A to Z blogging challenge is postcards. If you want, read my intro post).
Did you know that postcards come in other materials besides cardboard? As far as I know, they come in cork, copper, leather and wood too. So far, I have received one cork postcard that was sent to me from France. The illustration is a scene from Corsica. It took 7 days to get to me. It was sent in an envelope because it would have gotten destroyed in transit otherwise. It's not very thick and feels kind of floppy, but it does look just like a real postcard on the back, and you can write on it (see below).

How cool! I haven't seen a cork postcard but I love imagining the texture. I have a postcard made from a thin piece of wood. I keep it for decoration though - haven't sent one! I don't know if mailpeople would crunch it or not? I also have seen postcards made from animal poop paper!

A postcard made of cork! It is amazing.
How fun to get one made of cork. I've used cork in my scrapbooking but never though of it as post card material. Weekends In Maine
I've never heard of postcards made from Cork. What a unique and special thing to own!
