About Alexandra Heep:

Alexandra Heep is a longtime writer, chronic over-thinker, and recovering content mill survivor. Her work has appeared in literary journals, anthologies, and online platforms where words are still respected. She writes children’s books, health reflections, and the occasional blog post laced with humor and hard-won honesty. After years of illness, detours, and navigating the noise of modern wellness, she returned to writing with the firm belief that stories—like people—don’t have to be perfect to matter. She publishes under multiple pen names and drinks more goat milk than you’d expect.

Happy Birthday to my Brother - The Big 50

Alles gute zum Geburtstag!

Late 1960s, perhaps 1969?

Early 1970s, perhaps 1972 or 1973

And of course the 1980s. I am sure my brother appreciates this one the most.

This is our hometown. Well, sort of – we lived in a couple of different ones.

With my son. I do not have a picture with my daughter because, well, they haven’t met yet.

But, what’s his name? It’s Friedhelm. No, I cannot tell you how to pronounce that, but it’s German for “peaceful man.”
Here are some famous namesakes:
- Friedhelm Funkel: A German football manager (that is soccer to my American friends) and former player.
- Friedhelm Blobel: Director, president, and Chief Executive Officer of SciClone Pharmaceuticals.
Famous people born on October 21: Kim Kardashian, Manfred Mann.

If you want to know what else took place that day, read it here.

That's precisely how I thought it would be pronounced. Nice photos, Alex! You may not want to hear it, but you look a bit like your mom, assuming that was your mom holding you as a baby. You make a cute baby too!

A bit? More like a lot haha. When I was younger, it bothered me. Now it does not. Martina was always tired of hearing she resembled us too. Must be a kid thing.

Very interesting! How do you get those old photos on line? I've always been told that I look like my mom too. Why is it that kids don't want to look like their parents? Well, if my mom had been Grace Kelly, perhaps I would have felt differently. :-)
